Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world after football. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has 104 members including 10 Full Members that play official Test matches, 34 Associate Members, and 60 Affiliate Members. The ICC is responsible for the organization and governance of cricket's major international tournaments, notably the Cricket World Cup. It also appoints the umpires and referees that officiate at all sanctioned Test matches, One Day International and Twenty20 Internationals. Each nation has a national cricket board which regulates cricket matches played in its country. The nation cricket board of Germany is called Deutsche Cricket Bund (DCB).
Germany is a founder member of the European Cricket Federation (now ECC), affiliated member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1991 and hosted the first European Nations Cup in 1993 at Berlin. There are 7 National Cricket Associations (Landeverbände) and 61 registered cricket clubs under Deutsche Cricket Bund (DCB) as of 2011. Every year regional leagues are organized by the National Cricket Associations.
Stuttgart Cricket Eagles e.V. (SCE) is a registered club in Stuttgart and participates in the Baden Württemberg cricket league played under the Baden Württemberg Cricket Verband (BWCV). With more than 100 members from Germany, India, Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Pakistan, South Africa, England, Netherlands, Australia, Japan and Afghanistan SCE is the biggest cricket club in Germany.
We are also organizing training and development of School/Youth Cricket in Stuttgart. The formation of School, U14, U17 teams and taking part in different competitions are the ultimate goal of the youth cricket training. We aim to establish a professional Cricket atmosphere in Stuttgart.
