There was plenty of confusion in the week preceding the match. We finally decided to play the game in Mannheim. The ground had short square boundaries and a very quick outfield. The average score was around 300 in 40 overs.

Playing their first ever home-game, Stuttgart Cricket Eagles (SCE) chose to bat after winning the toss. The opening batsmen, Prasanna and Ravi, began the innings under cloudy conditions. TSG Ketsch's new ball bowler, Munir was a bit wayward in the beginning, but soon got into the 'swing' of things, making the ball move both ways.
